Dispensationalists Given Free Pass on Anti-Semitism
Brog admits to and documents the cases leveled against Pat Robertson, John Hagee and Jerry Falwell. Most of Falwell's accusations don't seem to have much merit outside of the realm of political correct language. The author does concede that Robertson has a list of charges primarily from his book NEW WORLD ORDER. In the work Pat uses anti-Semitic sources and fills the book with old warn out theories about Jewish bankers and groups that control the world. Brog's book, which is pushed by Hagee's group he founded, CUFI, (Christians United for Israel), lets the founder, Robertson and others off the hook on the charges. I have found little mention of Hagee or Robertson with groups like the ADL who tend to look the other way. The justification for tolerance is based on the idea that the overall volume of statements and writings support Israel. Robertson claims he is the best friend Israel has ever had. Hagee funnels $55,000,000 a year to Israel he boasted. Though many of us are alarmed that people like LaHaye, Van Impe, and others use anti-Semitic sources and theories, it is apparently excused by a host of Jewish scholars as incidental. Or as Brog, who is a Jew, says "overall" the support given to Israel makes Hagee and Robertson friends of Jews. Brog claims that taken in context, NEW WORLD ORDER is a pro-Israel book. pg. 213
