From Joseph Farah of World Net Daily:
We Americans are being thoroughly indoctrinated by the mass media, the government schools, the propaganda arms of the federal government and the pseudoscience-government complex on the phony issue of global warming.
Now, if all that is not enough, some significant church leaders are attempting to make the global, pagan, socialistic agenda behind the conspiracy a matter of faith. [ ]
That's basically all you need to know about global warming. It's a bunch of hot air, all right - hot air generated by people whose goal is always the same, redistributing wealth and reordering civilization.
Now I expect this sort of thing from Al Gore. The man is a liar. That's what he does for a living. And he has done well for himself in purposely, knowingly deceiving people in his quest for a global utopia run by his puppeteers, whoever they may be.
But Rick Warren, author of "The Purpose-Driven Life"?
Todd Bassett, national commander of the Salvation Army?
Leith Anderson, former president of the National Association of Evangelicals?
That's right. Those are just three of the Christian luminaries who signed on to this pact with the globalist devil - who sold their American birthrights for a mess of political correctness.
Joining them in this scam are World Vision President Rich Stearns, Wheaton College President Duane Litfin, Christianity Today Editor David Neff and Executive Editor Timothy George.
They all signed on to the "Climate Change: An Evangelical Call to Action" - and climbed into bed with funding sources that hate God, hate Christianity and hate freedom. Among them, the Rockefeller Brothers Fund - a group determined to bring the world under the yoke of global government and global religion. [ ]
Have you ever wondered what Jesus was talking about - who He was talking about - in Matthew 7:22-23 in the context of turning people away on Judgment Day? These are people who seem to believe they are Christians.
"Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
"And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."
That is tough language. It sounds like there are going to be some people shocked, disappointed, devastated when they finally get to meet Jesus face to face.
Who are these false prophets - these workers of iniquity - who prophesied in the name of Jesus, but never knew Him?
I would suggest to those signing on to the lies of global warming, to the coercive government and supra-government plans to tackle it, to the confiscation of wealth and the destruction of private property that this fake crisis portends to give those verses some serious consideration.
Before attempting to work out the salvation of the world by government force, maybe these folks, too, should be certain they work out their own personal salvation with fear and trembling.
I'm not the judge of where they will spend eternity. But I do know they are about the business of making earth a living hell.
From Brannon Howse of the Christian Worldview Network:
Did you hear the news? Eighty-five "evangelical" leaders have come together and formed a coalition to bring attention to an issue. Is it abortion, same-sex marriage, training Christians in Biblical evangelism or calling churches back to the Bible? No! Sad to say, this group of 85 "evangelical" leaders has not organized to confront any of these serious issues facing America or the church but to save us from burning up due to global warming. As if this is not bad enough, the initiative of these Christian leaders is being funded by pro-abortion, pro-same-sex marriage, globalist foundations. [ ]
While the group of 85 do not mention the Kyoto Protocol, they appear to be ignorant of the harm that would come to our economy from such an anti-American, anti-capitalist treaty. The Kyoto Protocol is a dangerous international agreement to fight greenhouse gas emissions. This treaty would give a pass to some of the world's biggest polluters such as China and India, while putting America under the thumb of the United Nations and many of its anti-American member countries.
However, in fairness we need to cut the group of 85 some slack since most of them are not businessmen that live in the "real world." The group of 85 is largely a group of non-profit, academic, pencil pushers that would not know the first thing about what it takes to run a for-profit business.
It is bad enough that so many "evangelical" environmental extremists have infected our churches, colleges, universities and evangelicalism with their liberal brand of Christianity but now they want to damage America's free enterprise system by making it difficult for business to compete in the world market place? [ ]
Why did this group of 85 not do a little home-work before reportedly taking the funds and aligning themselves with such a web and cross pollination of anti-Christian, same-sex marriage supporting, abortion funding, United Nations loving extremists? [ ]
This is an emerging brand of Christianity that is assisting in and giving credibility and cover to groups in favor of globalism, the end of national sovereignty, tyranny and eventually the persecution of Christians. Let's face it; the environmental initiative of many of today's popular Christian leaders is being funded by some of the most anti-Christian, anti-American, globalist organizations. [ ]
The group of 85 is nothing less than the secular left's Trojan horse that has been placed inside evangelical circles. [ ]
In an article written by Paul Nussbaum in the Philadelphia Inquirer published on January 8, 2006, entitled "The Purpose Driven Pastor" we read something that is very telling about Rick Warren's brand of Christianity:
Warren predicts that fundamentalism, of all varieties, will be "one of the big enemies of the 21st century."
Warren is quoted in the article as saying:
Muslim fundamentalism, Christian fundamentalism, Jewish fundamentalism, secular fundamentalism - they're all motivated by fear. Fear of each other.
What is Warren saying? Are conservative fundamentalists like Albert Mohler of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Dr. D. James Kennedy of Coral Ridge Presbyterian, Don Wildmon of The American Family Association, John MacArthur of Grace Community Church and Master's College, author R.C. Sproul, or Dr. Ravi Zacharias some of the Christian fundamentalists that are the "enemies of the 21st century"? Who is Warren talking about and how are Christian fundamentalist a threat to the 21st Century? How should the government oppose this threat?
To all my friends that cannot swallow the grape cool-aid of Rick Warren and other such leaders fast enough; don't tell me I did not warn you a long time ago to literally and figuratively stop buying what they are selling.
I pray this article reveals that many of today's most popular authors, convention speakers, pastors and "Christian" leaders are really empty suits with a deficiency of Biblical discernment and the most common of common sense.
Sadly, many of the darlings of the American Christian church have little, if any, commitment to Biblical truth, the inerrancy of the Bible, the Biblical plan of salvation, Biblical evangelism and the Biblical definition of a true Christian. [ ]
Look beyond Warren's book to his numerous media interviews, projects and associations and you will see Warren is not a conservative evangelical Christian having publicly voiced his opinion that fundamentalist Christians are the "enemies of the 21st Century".
If you love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ, if you have surrendered your life to Him, if you are eternally grateful that He offered Himself as a sacrifice and shed His blood to atone for your sins, then I invite you to reject and oppose the vain philosophies of America's emerging church leaders.
I am calling on Pastors, Christian leaders and laymen to reject fads, trendy books and politically correct causes and return your churches, colleges, universities, seminaries, Bible studies and Sunday school classes to the reading, teaching and preaching of the Word of God alone.
